This design was proposed for the softgoods refresh at Hotel Shattuck Plaza. Points of needed improvement included flooring (guestroom and corridors), lighting, window coverings, soft seating, decorative accents and overall updating with cohesion to existing hotel. The proposed design was inspired by the demographic of Berkeley, California. Tailored patterns in the carpet and drapery are reminiscent of the business man and university crowd. Nail head details and watercolor patterns add a touch of the unique and free spirits found in Berkeley and the lush velvets, natural stone and glass elements are a nod to the hotels historic and luxurious feel.
